Some Apple TV Math
Halfway through the macworld keynote and i'm already interested in the Apple TV. But is it worth it? Let's do some math.
Digital Cable: $50/mo or $600/an
Blockbuster Online (4 movies/mo): $7/mo or $84/an
Tivo: $13/mo or $156/an
Current Annual TV Budget: $840
New AppleTV Budget?
HD Movie Rentals (4 movies/mo): $20/mo or $240/year
Leftover budget for TV Shows: $600 or 300 TV Show Downloads
That's roughly full seasons for 12 different shows. Entirely too much TV watching if you ask me... but certainly enough for our household.
This doesn't take into account the entry cost of the AppleTV ($229), but hey, i could make that up in bittorrent downloads, no problem.
Either way, mathematically, I'm interested.
