You think that this writers strike is a genius ploy by Hollywood liberals to make America pay attention to politics?

No one in Hollywood is that smart. Ridiculous theory.

Fine!
But at the very least this MAY be causing people to pay more attention to politics.

Not really, now they're just talking about how bad "celebrity apprentice" is instead of how funny 30 rock was last week.

I would say that the strike happened for one reason only: money. Neither side of the strike would be holding out for any other reason.

i guess i was being a little hyperbolic, but clearly not enough so. The lack of tv may have some impact because there's a captive audience that is not receiving its expected amount of drama. The election might provide just what they need. And maybe the news outlets/media conglomerates have a little more money to invest in coverage, etc.

I guess i'm saying that the writers strike is having some effect on both sides of the media - as does politics, so i'm curious how one influences the other.
