Ahh, Religion. There is a great TED talk by Richard Dawkins about the idea of 'militant atheism". A few of my favorite quotes from it:

quoting Bertrand Russell: "you strictly have to be agnostic about whether there is a teapot in orbit around mars, but that doesn't mean you treat the likelihood of it's existence as on all-four with it's non existence."
