On my slow yet steady slide toward hating Gays and 'Abortionists' (aka. becoming 'conservative'), I've become a pretty big fan of 'Libertarians'. And a magazine i like a lot is Reason. This is a pretty nice piece about gun laws. I don't know that it makes a compelling case against gun laws, but it does reveal some of the fallacies in what current gun laws are trying to do - and what they may ever be able to do.

I'm not sure that gun laws can prevent a rebellion since i'm not sure i agree with the idea that you need guns to be 'armed' in this day and age. Seems like hacking is a much more potent weapon.

I stand behind the 2nd amendment (not very liberal of me, I know). However, I don't see the people being able to overthrow the government with the guns we have. We're way outgunned. Perhaps our current cache would be more useful in post-apocolyptical anarchy. Road Warrior style...

Interesting, and what do libertarians have to say about basic writing and grammar skills?

I don't know what libertarians would say - but i'd say that's a diversion from the topic.

You sure? Or would you say that it is an diversion from the topic.

This just in: Sardonic Sweeney savagely slashes Sieka's syntax!

I stand behind the spirit of the 2nd amendment - to not take away the people's power to defend themselves from tyranny.

the actual way they describe it "a right to own guns" i think is one of many ways to execute that logic. and to your point, eric - it's probably the least effective today.
